    Operating System Windows 7.

Sounds comes throught both the speakers and the headphone.

is there a setting to isolate the sound from the speakers with the headphone is being used?

When you insert the headphone plug it should cut off the sound to your speakers. Possibly a faulty connector in the PC.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

Is this a laptop or a desktop?
If its a desktop - are you using the front or the rear headphone jack? Try using the other one if there are two.

Go into Control Panel and see if have: Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager icon.

If yes "“ Open it "“ On top right press little button (has wench on it) and says connector settings when cursor over it.

Check "“ Mute rear panel output when front headphone plugged in.
