Resolved SP3 Install Stalls at "Cleanup ..." using Microsoft CD

    I am trying to install SP3 (using a Microsoft SP3 CD) on a friend's computer. It appeared to moving along fine but when it got to the point where is said it was "finishing installation - cleaning up files" it appears to be in a loop. As of the time I am composing this thread, it has been at that point for about an hour and a half.

    I am reluctant to manually stop the installation but don't see any other alternative. Any suggestions? I did create a restore point prior to starting but not sure if that will still be an option.

    I guess I was a bit impatient. The XP SP3 CD finally installed successfully after a four hour run. All is well now.
