SP1 doesn't appear in Windows Update

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. I have automatic updates enabled. I need to get Service Pack 1 so I can update from IE8. When I go to Windows Updates, Service Pack 1 is never an option. There are no important updates pending. I tried going to the Microsoft Download Center. It said don't click on "Download" if you're updating just one computer. It said to see KB2498452 if Windows Update is not offering SP1. I clicked on that, in the resolution section, under method 4, it said if your Intel integrated graphics driver , 64-bit, is between version 8.15.10.2104 through 8.15.10.2141 (mine is 8.15.10.2119) to go to the computer manufacturer's website (HP in my case) to see if I can update the driver. All I saw was the option to re-install the same driver, not update it. Also in KB2498452 it said to click on KB2454826, so I did. Under Known Issues, it said that Windows Live Mail might not work if the update is done. That's our email program, so I certainly don't want that! It referred me to KB2505524, which suggested I try to update the Intel integrated graphics driver! I feel like I'm going in circles here and would greatly appreciate any assistance.
