I am having a problem with my computer.

The sound service is not running, the registry Cannot be accessed by ANY registry software, windows even says the Admin tools do not exist. Including widows update, and Windows Defender tools will not function. I get this message for any registry tools and admin tools...

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

I tried the DDS program mentioned in the Malware forum, Got the smae error mentioned above.

Please, start new topic HERE by....

    Download OTL to your Desktop.

    * Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    * Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    %systemroot%\system32\eventlog.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\scecli.dll
    %systemroot%\netlogon.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\cngaudit.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\sceclt.dll
    %systemroot%\ntelogon.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\logevent.dll

    * Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows: OTL.txt and Extras.txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them back here.
Since those are pretty big files, you can attach them, if you wish.

    Tried OTL

Thanks for the advice but I get the Same error when I try to open OTL,

"The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. "

I'm sorry that didn't work, and I am open to more suggestions.

Something else I noticed, any install program, does not work. Sorry forgot to add that.

Have you tried any form of an antivirus? Or perhapes even msconfig? (goto start -> run)

If you can start msconfig look for any odd looking start ups and deselect them, or post them here.

if you can NOT run msconfig then restart, and run in safe mode via pressing f8 before os selection.

    Still not working

I have tried 3 different anti virus programs, and in safe mode msconfig works but it doesn't show anything odd, Before this started acting up, mswsock.dll kept making changes that I couldn't stop, is that possibly connected?

Im lost on what to do..
