Windows Vista Sound issue on Windows Vista

Hi Friends,

I have couple of issue with Windows Vista. It's Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit OS. Suddenly, I am facing following issues after Windows Update. Please help me out.

1) Sound doesn't work... when i click on the speaker icon from the system tray to change volume, I can see bar moving there up-and-down but I am not able to hear anything.

2) USB drive stopped working. It doesn't detect any USB device.

3) On clicking shutdown button, it hangs and take forever without doing anything.

First issue is critical for me. Second is not that critical but good to have solution. I can live with third one.

I tried restoring my system back before the Windows Update check point, it didn't help. Tried doing all setings but still I can't hear anything.

Did anyone had the same issue before? Please help me out.

 

In Help and Support, search for "Remove an update ". Remove the last batch. If it is still not working, do the System Restore again, but you may need to go back a bit further.

If it returns to normal, go the motherboard/system manufacturer's website and find updated drivers. You may want to try installing the updates again after that.

Do you have drivers automatically installed by Windows Update?
