I have a monitor with the microphone installed. I get feedback from my external speakers when i turn up the sound. When i try to adjust the mic volume in the control panel the following message appears "windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe, Use Add/Remove to install" I also get the following when I tried to display the volume control button on my taskbar "can't display volume control on task bar because volume control program has not been installed." I looked in add/remove programs but didn't see an obvious problem. The only thing that works is unplugging the mic. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Your SndVol32.exe file maybe corrupted. Type SndVol32.exe in run command box from the Start menu and see if the Soundcard volume properties display appears. You may have to extract this file from the XP install disk and replace the existing one.
