I understand that you have no sound on your computer? If that is the case please check the following - I am assuming that you are running XP ....

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume - is the Mute box unchecked? If it is checked uncheck it.

Are the speakers plugged into the correct socket on your computer? Are they powered up?

Right click on My Computer > Properties > Device Manager and scroll down if necessary to Sound, Video and Game Controllers and click on the + sign to eapand the entry. Do any of the devices listed have an exclamation marh or a ? mark on a yellow ground - if so, which?

Please post back with your findings.

Should you need the sound card driver for the onboard sound chip on your motherboard - (I have adjusted your thread title to reflect this) go to this page ....

    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=430&kind=1

    and scroll down to ....

Realtek ALC Series AC and download the driver for Win XP. It looks to be about a 24 Mb download.

But post back with answers on the questions above first please.

hello the mute button is unchecked and the speakers are plugged in correctly. I did the device manager bit and there are no ! or ? in the sound bit but on other devises the was one on multimedia audio controller.

when i clicked on it it says click here to reinstall but when i did that it said it couldnt find it.

In that case go to the link I posted and download Realtek ALC Series AC and install it. That should solve your problem.

    Keep us posted :)
