I stole this from an old post, but it is my problem exactly. There did not seem to be a solution posted so I thought I would try again.

Normally, when you click on an email from a particular person, then sort by "From," the sorted list will have the same email selected first. So if you click on an email from Jane Doe, then sort by From, it will take you to the emails from Jane Doe grouped together first.

On one of my user's Inbox, when you select/highlight an email from Jane Doe, and then sort by From, the selection jumps to the top of the list instead of taking him to the first email sent by Jane Doe. The emails from Jane Doe are down at the bottom of the page and the user has to scroll down to get to them. This only happens intermittently. Sometimes it works fine. I have already done a repair on Microsoft Office 2010 and I have deleted and recreated the user's Outlook profile, but it doesn't resolve it. This is on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to fix it? I haven't been able to find any other threads anywhere on the web about this, but this one. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Since I posted in the old thread you found:

    I found two things:

    1. It seems to happen where there are around 150-200 (or more) emails in the folder
    2. It has been reportedly fixed by an update, so make sure you have all Office (Outlook) updates installed.
