I'm not completely sure where this should go.... It REALLY outta go to Norton AV Tech Support, but....

Just renewed my Norton AV2002 (it had expired) and can't enter the key for it.... because Norton Live Update (latest version)keeps looking for a dialup connection, but I'm on DSL. I can't seem to convince it that it IS bloody connected.

Norton's T/support no longer supports 2002 and won't even discuss it with me.

Anyone got any ideas other than upgrading? I think it's a rip, not supporting a 2-year old program.

I don't have a suggestion for Norton, but I have a link below to a free AV [AVG] that works very good. They ask for an email address but that is only to send you an registration key and they do not spam.
Sort of a bummer that Norton will take your money and then not help you.

If it was me and paid by credit card. I would notify my credit card company and dispute the charges. "Services not provided. " The worst that can happen is you will pay. Looks like you're doing that anyway.

Sounds like you may have to reconfigure the NAV internet access... the help menu in NAV will show you how. Here's what my 2004 version instructs:

If you use an Internet Service Provider, LiveUpdate can use your existing settings. You can also specify or create a different connection.

You can change your Internet access method using either the LiveUpdate Configuration option in the LiveUpdate user interface, or by using the Symantec LiveUpdate option in the Control Panel.

To access Symantec LiveUpdate in the LiveUpdate user interface:

    Start LiveUpdate.
In the main LiveUpdate window, click Configure.
To access LiveUpdate in the Control Panel:

On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
In the Control Panel window, select Symantec LiveUpdate.
To change the Internet access method:

On the LiveUpdate Configuration ISP tab, click one of the following:

The Internet Options in the Control Panel: LiveUpdate uses your current Internet settings (stored in the Internet Control Panel). Click Configure to view or change the Internet setting. Otherwise, click OK to continue with the LiveUpdate session.
Customized settings for LiveUpdate: Lets you add or update a customized connection for LiveUpdate. Continue to the next procedure.
Do not manage my Dial-up Networking connections: Select this option if you do not want LiveUpdate to manage your Dial-up Networking connection to the Internet. When you select this option, LiveUpdate will not automatically close any Dial-up Networking connections that it may have created to connect to the Internet. This may result in unexpected phone charges.
    To customize settings for LiveUpdate:

Select a Dial-Up Networking connection, or do one of the following:

Click Add to add a new connection.
Click Properties to view and change the selected connection.
If you want LiveUpdate to log on and off automatically, type your User name and Password.

Click Apply to apply settings and move to another tab, or click OK if you are done.
