For some reason the icon for closing all open windows and recover the desktop on the quick launch task bar disappeared. I use it all the time and have not been able to figure out how to restore it. Could someone please help me. Thanks.

Good one Steve... I was trying to track that fix down. I knew it existed just couldn't put my finger (cursor  ) on it.
Another option... right-click the taskbar and select 'Show the Desktop'.

Thanks Steve and Mr. B. I didn't have to use the MS fix because after I saw the name of the program, I searched my computer and found the icon on the desktop. I must have accidentally dragged it off the taskbar. So I simply dragged it back. But I saved the MS info in case I delete it. Thanks again.

    Mr. B.
Right clicking the taskbar and checking "show the desktop" does not restore that icon, at least not on my computer. It allows you to click on an icon that displays all the items on the desktop in a drop down list.

    ackerberg,
Doesn't restore the icon... but performs the same function.

I wasn't talking about the Desktop 'toolbar' from the right-click menu. When you right-click the taskbar you should have an option on the menu that says *Show the Desktop*

Another fast way to "show desktop" is WinKey + d on the keyboard. It will immediately minimize all windows. Doing it again will bring them back.
