[Something happened that causes desktop to look like Windows 7]

Something has taken over my Lenovo Thinkpad SL510. I did a cold start of my windows 8 this morning and I have a completely new environment on my desktop. It shows my desktop in the format of Window 7. If I bring my curser down to the lower left of my screen it shows an icon with the label start. Clicking on that will bring up icons labeled "desktop ", "internet ", "store ". If I right click on the screen it brings up an icon that says "all apps ", and clicking on that shows all my apps and the icon they are assigned. Clicking on the desktop icon gets me back to my desktop. If I click on the internet icon it doesn't bring up the web page I had before. Things are really ******* up. I would like to get it back to the status it was when I turned it off last night. I need help please.

 

Restore your computer to an earlier point in time

Hi rgaleh, You've Posted in the W8 Forum so I assume your comp is running W8 OS. Has it been updated to W8.1?
Or do you have Classic Shell or Start8 operating?
Moving the mouse cursor to the left corner of the screen will bring up Start(with shell) if Classic Shell is installed.
I'm wondering if the Update to W8.1 was downloaded as you were closing your comp down last night, and it's changed your Desktop. Neil.
