Intel has new chipset utilities that increase the speed of your system. I'm running 2 different types of systems with these chip sets, and after installing the new code I've improved my performance by at least 10%.
Intel also has a new copy of the Intel Application Accelerator, which improves disk access time for their ATA 66 / 100 based controllers.

They are all posted on the Intel download site. Run the Intel chipset identifier program if you are not certain what type of chipset you are running.

I recommend this only to those experienced with installing new drivers, and know how to back out the new driver if things mess up.
