Suddenly today some websites started loading slowly, and some won't load at all -- they get stuck. That was with Google Chrome, but when I tried Internet Explorer, I had the same problem.

A week or two ago, I changed routers. But everything worked fine until today.

I ran an AVG antivirus scan and a Malwarebytes scan. Neither turned up anything very bad.

This is my laptop, and I did have to get an updated version of the driver for my wireless chip. But that's all that I remember being wrong.

The only other thing that seemed odd was a message at some point about the Shockwave plugin crashing. But I cannot find any problems with plugins. Perhaps I'm just not checking in the right place.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Hi Daanii. Are you getting a strong signal coming from your router to your labtop? Try unplugging the router for 30 seconds and then reconnecting it to see if that solves the problem.

Also try to start Internet Explorer with no add-ons and see if you still experience the slow down when connecting to websites.

Additionally, try deleting ALL temporary files, including temp internet files, history, flash objects, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. Before I saw the suggestions, I tried to access the websites that I was unable to access before. They worked fine. Whatever the problem is, for now it is gone.

I suspect the problem will return, so I will leave everything the same. I cannot think of what might have changed between when I had the problem and now. It's puzzling.

Well if it happens again then follow the suggestions that Tony and I posted and see if that will help you narrow down the issue.

Could have been an ISP problem.
