    Hello,

I've been using Windows XP ICS quite happily on my home network for a little bit of time now and everything is fine. However, I'm finding ICS extremely limited in what I can actually do with it...there is not many options/settings or monitoring options in it at all.

I've spend a great deal of time looking for ways to overcome a few, basic requirements which I need. However obviously I hope there is some 3rd party application or utility which could help me out.

Is there anything which would integrate itself into ICS and record/log/display what is being accessed through my internet connection? I'm looking for something similar to what Wingate shows - web pages opened/viewed and socks etc connections. Is anything available which can do this?

Is there anything which could set priorties for people using the ICS connection...so that like one connection has higher speeds than another?

Is there a way to block/allow certain ports only for certain users and block/allow certain protocols for certain users, such as FTP, socks etc? And forcable disconnect a user from ICS without disconnecting the ICS internet connection?

Seems to me there must be some "addons" to ICS out there somewhere or something which could help in some of these areas. I don't simple want a firewall though, want something which is particularly for ICS.

    Thanks, hope someone can help.

    Cheers :)

My suggestion is to go with RRAS. You have a little more control over your connection. In regaurds to having one computer have faster access than another, you'd have to setup QOS (quality of Service) for your internal network. Hearing about basic your network is at home it is probably not feasible to do this.

In my experience, no there is not a way to setup ICS to do all that. Look into the RRAS functionality of your PC.

Oh right, so what is RRAS? Whats it stand for? Where can I get it? I realise that ICS isn't really possible to do all or even some of those things, seems almost like a good idea for someone to develop!
