Some "buttons" or links don't work...

on some websites. I apologize, as I asked this question before, but I forgot the technical answer and need it again...


On some websites, my settings don't allow me to see the links or buttons in order to click them. I remember I asked this before, and the answer was in IE/tools/internetoptions/advanced. I think it had to do with the Java (sun) and/or microsoft VM settings....I either checked or unchecked them both and it worked! Now I am asking for a friend who has the same problem I had...thanks for any input...
