sokets de trois v1 - information please

User on another forum reports that Norton is reporting sokets de trois v1 and I tried to search up some solid information.

I am now somewhat confused. Can't tell if he might be infected or if NIS is simply reporting attempts/attacks by this thing from the internet.

I did suggest he do RAV and Housecall scans and post back with the results but not real sure what I can do after that.

The google hits for it are sorta vague unless I just missed the solid ones so was hoping one of the security folks can give the real story.

Need to confirm if it is NAV or NIS reporting. NAV would indicate infection while NIS would indicate either attack attempts or the update bug in the discussion above.

 

He posted "Norton Security" but I don't take that as rock solid from any of the users on the Fishing forum this came from.

Thanks for the link though. Interesting. Not a ringing endorsement of what Symantec does (or does not) do with the Norton app suite though. I posted it to the forum thread so the affected user can look it over as well.
