I recently purchased a software title "Registry First Aid" from Avanquest.com. This title appears to be able to check and remove Registry errors from the hard drive. However, repeated checks show same files that had been or should have been removed by the previous run of RFA, had in fact not been removed. Avanquest has been contacted several times for help on these errors, but todate Avanquest has failed to respond. Has anyone at BBS forums used this software title "RFA" or in the case of help required been successful in obtaining asistance from Avanquest?

Are the entries not getting removed or are they getting added back? If they are getting back - that usually indicates that some piece of software or virus thinks the entries are important.

As a general rule - I never let any software that claims to be able to clean the registry touch the registry. One little accidental removal can kill a pc.

Thank you for replies. I did contact directly to Avanquest with no reply. I am taking your advice entirely, I will remove this software from my computer as I find computer is not working as it should, probably this step is too late. Files are said to be removed but show up again for deletion on a further session of this program.

Avanquest is a reseller, not the publisher of the software.

Better make an image backup of your computer before doing anything with the registry. If the registry goes, boom.
