I seem to remember seeing in the past a program which you could use to simulate that a received email message (especially spam) had been sent to an incorrect email address and so be bounced back to the sender with message "unknown email address" (or whatever the message is).

Does such software exist and if so what is the name of it?
    Thanks

Even if such software exists, it is only adding to the problem, by flooding the 'Net with junk traffic.

Most spam is either send with forged headers - in which case your bounce messages will just go to innocent 3rd parties who's email address was falsified.

In other cases spam is send from hacked computers, so the bounce messages will also not have any effect.
