When I tried to e-mail a scanned document, I got a message from my Norton Internet Security that "Softel vdm Sft Tabs" was attempting to access the internet. I permitted the application but wanted to find out if I should have blocked it.

I have sent scanned documents - not lately - that did not carry that warning. I think I have installed some W98SE updates since I last sent a scanned documnet. I can't think of any other installations I have done lately that might have caused this to occur. Is this anything to be concerned about?

    Hello Robert,

    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=Softel+vdm+Sft+Tabs

Google search page result - result because only one item. Softtel seems to be a software Co. simialer to Acrobat. You may have hit a document that is in a format that triggered the response.

BYW, when I clicked on that one item, something wanted to download. Sort of the response when Acobat wants to download their PDF reader or Macomedia when encountering a flash object.

    Regards - Charles

    Thanks Charles
I had done the Google search with about the same results as you. Since it appeared to want to open something up I was a bit concerned. I have also done a search on this site with no results.
