    I keep getting an error when Windows installer is searching for the following

    "smartsound quicktracks plugin.msi "

    I have no idea what software it belongs to. It keeps popping up to try to install when I attempt to run Microsoft AntiSpyware. (This plugin does not exist on my pc)
    When I search Microsoft or Symantec web pages I cannot find any references to it.
    When I google it, I get several references only in foreign languages which I cannot understand.
    If I use the translate function, Google appears to have found a Foreign Language Windows BBS but even the translation makes no sense.

    I have run my virus checker as well as having a firewall. I have all latest Windows updates as of 10/19/2005.

    Does anyone know where this came from? Is is something I am supposed to have or is it spyware or a virus or what?

    Thank you - Found a SmartSound program installed on my Computer. Do not have any of the Adobe programs mentioned in the link you sent me to Smartsound.com, but did update Adobe Acrobat reader the other day.

    Maybe somehow it came down with the update. Problem appears to have disappeared once I uninstalled Smartsound.

    I had not thought to check for an installed program called smartsound.

    Not sure why I only found foreign language pages when I googled.

    Glad to hear it was that simple to sort :)

    BTW - when I Googled for smartsound quicktracks plugin.msi all the hits were in foreign languages too :confused:


    The Google I posted was for smartsound quicktracks plugin - no doubt those foreign language hits were there somewhere too :)
