If you have a new drive, and have not backed up anything, you are at square one. You enter your username, and the password, not saving it, until you are sure that you did not make any mistakes. In order to find out what you have in your Seamonkey, you should check Edit|Preferences|Passwords|Manage Passwords, and look at your account. I have set up my mail with several providers. Among them AOL, Cox, Yahoo, and more. A total of 14 accounts. If I select the account, you will see the way the account is set up, and the username. If you saved the information, you should click on the Show Password, and you will see what you have. If you did not save the password, you will have to enter every time, but if it is wrong, you should delete that line, and try again.

Thanks for the reply. I have done that. My user name and PW is correct... SM just wont accept it. Thats why I need help. I get a msg saying used is accepted, password is not accepted. I have had the same ones for years! I just dont know what to do. I wondered if theres a mistake in my SM email settings that Im not seeing..is there a web site that shows how to set it up easily? Can I access my SM email with Thunderbird? Thanks again for the reply.

you cannot access your mail with a different program, but you can set it up.
I would like to know if you have set up Windows Mail, or any other program. I have never heard of problems like yours. You say that you can access your mail through AOL, but how?
The website or the AOL program.

But, does it not depend on the ISP? I used to access my e-mail, formerly of netscape.net, and more recently aim.com, on a mail program, not at a website. To make a long story short, what mail are you trying to get? It is possible to set up @aim.com, @aol.com, @yahoo.com mail in Seamonkey, as IMAP, but most of my mail comes at @cox.net.
I think that we must be doing something in an entirely different way.

Note: I tried to take a look at my aim.com mail, which I had not used in ages. In fact, I do not even have listed it in my list of accounts, which goes back to Feb 2010. After I tried to get my password, I ended up getting my aol.com mail at the aim.com site, which goes to show you, how important it is to give enough background info.
