Hey guys, just wanted to start by saying that this forum is a godsend, and I've never seen such knowledgeable techies on the net. My thank to all of you that can help me, and many more thanks to those who continue to help others :)

Anyway, recently, I've been getting some suspicious activity going on, such as Windows rebooting, all of the folders turning to the unknown icon, windows freezing during booting, etc. etc. So, I have S&D, and McAfee, but neither have turned up anything. I know I have something, because under the startup process, one of them is a known virus (NvCpl-Something). So, I've come here for help, because my 19 year old brain can only take me so far. Anyway, here's te HJT:

Hi, Julian1. Welcome to Windows BBS!:)

I'm sorry your thread appears to have been overlooked.

I Googled kkw_run.exe and came up with only 13 results.

Upon reading this "Geeks to Go!" thread, it looks like you might have malware. That thread is unresolved so we can't be certain in that case. A BleepingComputer thread also has an unresolved issue that displays the absence of kkw_run.exe from the person's latest HijackThis (HJT) log anyway.

CAUTION: DO NOT use the instructions in those threads. Malware removal methods are usually unique to each computer. Certain steps must be performed in a specific manner according to the individual computer hardware/software configuration (in order to yield a complete removal if possible).

I expect a malware-removal expert will respond to your issue shortly. :)

If you have already resolved your issue by other means, then please let us know. Again, I apologize for your wait.

If you have not proceeded further with your issue and you still wish to seek our assistance, please paste a fresh HJT log. Things may have changed on your computer since March 11th and it is important to have the latest information. Your fresh HJT log will also let us know you still want assistance.
