Slow lan conection

    I have a hard time going online it is so slow I get timeout loading web pages. It seems like it doesnt want to download web pages. I had XP home but took it out and installed win98 SE. I guess I'm not ready for XP yet. But it did the same thing with XP.

    Iseen on other posts about the NIC setting I tryed to find them with no luck

    ironhorse - the NIC settings are only important if you have a network at home. If you have a single PC with an internet connection, the slowest NIC settings will still leave the card able to operate at least 10-20 times faster than the best your internet connection could manage.

    How do you connect to the internet? DSL/Cable/Dial-up? If broadband, directly from PC network card to modem?
