Slow dial-up ISP connect 'fix'

    I don't know if this is too trivial to post, but here it is.. For months I endured very slow dial-up connection to my ISP... it would connect, display 'verifying username and password' then not actually connect for about another forty seconds or so. What I found (by accident) was that My Connection properties was set to 'log on to network.' (My Connection/Server types/Advanced options). I unchecked that box and behold, I was instantly connected after the 'verifying....' msg displayed. Just thought I'd pass it on. Hope it helps someone.

    That tip should help since we've had more than a few folks post with the problem and had to point them to that solution.
