At work, some PCs running Win2K have both Microsoft and Novell network clients installed. As far as I can tell, this prob only occurs on these PCs (maybe).

The prob is when I right click on the task bar or on Start => Programs, the context menu takes 30 to 60 seconds to open.

There's some ambivilance here, because I've seen PCs with only Novell do almost the same thing (although not as long), and I've seen PCs with Microsoft & Novell work just fine (only on fresh desktop installs).

It appears (although I may be wrong) the problem has to do with running both network clients and that over a little time (indefinate), something builds up (or backs up).

The problem does not affect the desktop or icons on the desktop. Only the task bar and Start menu.

This is really annoying when all you want to do is sort the Programs menu or delete an unwanted Icon from the Quick Launch. You can't do anything else while you wait, because clicking anywhere else will cause the context menu to either not open or open (30 to 60 s later) and then close immediately.

Well, it sounded good but didn't solve my problem. Thanks anyway.
