Slow Computer

Friends keep telling me that their computers are slowing down.
I did not know why until my computer became slower & slower.
Anti Virus checkouts maybe helped some.
Running Defrag utility did a small improvement.
However, when I got a program that eliminates all those
megs upon megs of history - temporary files - and those blasted cookies the problem went away.
Now I clean everything out daily.
It is not very hard to pick up 10 to 20 meg of junk by visiting a few web pages etc.

So, what is this all about - just this:

Am I correct, or is there another reason why computers are slowing down nowdays?
