I installed AVG PC TuneUp and followed all directions. Now my Windows 7 PC is slower than it was before I installed it. Anything I should be looking at? Thanks

Did it create some sort of log that told you what changes it made so that you can reverse them?

And or does it have an Undo option?

Yes, it did provide a log. What is funny is that after the changes the performance bar was at about 60% and after I did the undo it was at 100%. Problem is, the computer is still slow....internet that is. I'm going to do a speed test tomorrow to see where I'm at. May be a problem with the provider. I do appreciate your input very much.

I think you have confused between internet speed and PC speed, if I'm not mistaken.
Internet speed depends on the service provider, it is independent of your PC specs.

You said in the first post, your PC speed slowed down after using tuneup utilities, but you said later there's reduced Internet speed.

Can anyone clarify between PC speed and Internet speed?

Thank you all. The PC speed is fine and I'm sorry I did not state this. It is the internet speed and I will do the speed test. It may be my provider that has a problem. I will respond with the speed test.

My download speed averages 3.80mb and upload speed averages 1.50mb. I really do not know if this is fast or not, I for sure am no geek.

That's on the very low end... An important question is what speed are you paying for.

It wouldn't hurt if you pulled the power cord to the modem and or router and left them unplugged for 5 minutes.. Then plug them back in and run the test again.

Thanks, I will try that. The router is actually a U-Verse router that is also used for my TV service. I believe it is a Cisco Router.

Do you know what speed you are paying for. 3.80 sounds like you are paying for 4.0. Usually it is 768, 1.5, 3.0, 8.0, 10.0 or 15.0 with DSL which is what you have with U-verse. It should be on your bill or you can call them and they will tell you what speed you are paying for.

Its not DSL, The source is fiber optic and a RJ45 cable comes into the house feeding the Cisco Router. The router then routes data to both TV boxes and my PC.

Hi JJ Emory. You should call your Internet Service Provider and ask them what internet speed you are paying for. Some ISP's have promotions where you can get a faster connection speed at a lower price for a limited time period.

    Who is your ISP?

My ISP is ATT U-Verse. I am going to try rebooting the router first, but not today, NFL Sunday. :)
