    Hello,

I've recently moved over from Win XP home to 2000 Pro.The main reason for the switch was so i could network with my mac easier.

Anyhow since going over to 2000,cd burning is much slower.
It seems to slow the whole machine down, even browsing folders is slow.

In XP media player had its own burning features built in,now in 2000 it seems to use a roxio plug in.

I tried burning using nero but its still just as slow.
It just takes up all my cpu time.

    Any ideas?

Check your burner software and drive compitablelity with the manufacture.

I'm running Nero 5.5 and my drive worked ok under Win XP so i assume its compatible with 2000 also.I'll check that.

If I slow the burn speed down then i can multitask better. So it looks like its a ram issue.

Does Windows 2000 use more ram than XP?

    Cheers
