    Hi,
    I am connected with wireless broadband with UMTS-HSDPA connection but still aaaaaawwwfullly slow loading up n down.

    I discovered this tool within its system and took it for a run and came up with this which to me is like a doctors script.
    Perhaps someone might offer suggestions.

    You should be getting 8-10 mb/sec.
    Go to Start button > Programs > Accessories > Command prompt and use these 2 commands separately:

    Code:
    ping www.yahoo.com >c:\ping-test.txt

tracert www.yahoo.com >c:\trace-test.txt
    Go to My Comouter > C:\
    Copy+paste the whole txt of each here in this thread. (ping-test.txt & trace-test.txt)

    Call your ISP and make them come to t-shoot the connection issues. You have what's known as a very bad "latency" problem and this is caused by the ISP network (more than likely).

    In the tracert:

    1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms umts-gateway.my-domain [192.168.1.1]
    is the first "hop ", which is to your router in your home and

    2 345 ms 399 ms 399 ms 123.200.191.225
    is the second "hop" which is to your ISP's router.

    Notice the time to your router is less than 1 milisecond and the time to the fisrt ISP node is 345+ miliseconds.

    ALL milisecond times should be well under 100 miliseconds. The ISP network is misconfigured or has malfunctioning lines/equipment.

    Because the connection from pc to your router is very good, the problem exists somewhere betwen your router and the rest of the world. It could be the line to your house, connectors on the lines, lines on poles or underground, ISP amplifiers, etc. Show them the tracert results and they will then see that it's THEIR problem.

    To demonstrate the problem to your ISP, do a tracert or ping to your ISP local home page!

    As you can see, the "very high timings" occur on your ISP network when I trace from my home in USA to your ISP site.
    #6 & 7 are international ISPs, #7 is Singapore. And your ISP is the remaining, which is so slow and overloaded that my trace times out.

    Just noticed No 10 you have as virgin mobile whereas it is virginbroadband.com.au it is a home wireless connection.
    Also I do not know how I was able to copy and paste...a fluke of sorts of the "command prompt ".
    Would you "concisely" explain how to do it as I cannot copy from the "command prompt" though I can paste to it.

    1. Right click the top of command window. (where its says, "Command Prompt ".

    2. Select "Edit ".

    3. Select "Select All ".

    4. repeat 1 & 2.

    5. select 'Copy ".

    Thanks...but how do you know all this stuff?? are you computer trained?

    There is nothing on the command prompt to indicate the instructions you gave, betcha heaps of folk checking out this post will be enlightened also.
    Then there's the other matter about all your knowledge relating to the ping and tracer test.
    Thanks heaps..just waiting for the ISP response now.
