I want to create a shortcut on the desktop for "sleep ".
Can someone tell me which file Win 7 Ultimate uses and
where to find it so I can do this.
    TIA

    Sleep

    Hi Arie,
Thanks for the reply..What you suggested seems to put my system
to "Sleep" But unlike the Ultimate sleep mode, when awakening, my computer does a complete reboot.
The "built in" just restarts the computer quickly.

What you have to do is right-click the Start button, choose Properties and set the Power button action to Sleep.

    Hi,
I have done what you suggested but this will cause a complete reboot or a lock up. Sometimes I get "windows resuming" and then a lock up.
The Win 7 Ultimate :Start>sleep is very quick in entering
and very quick in re opening.
I don't think this is the proper file that I used in
    my new shortcut.
    Jerry (ramjet)
    Thanks

Sorry, I never use sleep, and in the few times I tried the shortcut I posted above I didn't run into any trouble.

    Arie,
I'm now using right click to change the power button.
This seems to work well, so mark this thread as "Resolved "
    Thanks,
    Ramjet
