When I open a program window in XP and resize it or move it to a certain part of the screen, XP never remembers the size it was changed to and I need to go through the entire process of resizing/moving each time I open that program. Anyone know how to fix this?

For instance. I have a cheap Adobe photo editing program. When I open it it always needs to be resized and relocated on the desktop. How can I get XP to remember the changes and location of this window?

Thanks, everyone, but none of these suggestions are working. Let me try to explain this again in case I may have stated something that may be incorrect.

When I open up my Thunderbird mail client. it sits off center of the screen. I like to have my windows, when they are open, high enough so I can still see programs on the task bar. I do not use the "maximize" feature but rather just resize the edges of the open window to where I want them on the screen.

This is the problem as Windows XP does not remember the position that I resized the window too and I need to resize and move them every time I start the Thunderbird client.

This isn't the case for all programs when I open them but a select few. Windows Explorer is another in fact as is Adobe Photoshop Elements. It's never centered on the screen and I always need to readjust it to where I want it.

I downloaded the registery update for the 8,000 file thing and that didn't work with any of the above mentioned programs.

    Thank you all!

Sizer, (link above), lets you define exactly where on the screen and how large you want a window. And you can have multiple settings.

Now right-click the Title bar of a window, select one of your predefined settings, and that window will immediately snap to that exact position and size.
