Up to a week or so ago, I used to use SiteAdvisor which I got to like as it gives you a warning of bad sites, etc.

A week ago after I restored my PC to a former state from some CDs backup, I lost SiteAdvisor along with other programs.

Now here is the problem: After downloading the progrem again, Windows would not allow me to install it. When I try to open the download a window comes up with a warning note saying, Name: Safe .xpi
    Type: Unknown file type, 40.5KB
"The file you are downloading cannot be opened by the default program. It is either corrupted or it has an incorrect file type. As a security precaution it is recommended that you cancel the download ".

I run WinXP Home. Still have the download sitting on my desktop and tried downloading a number of times with no success.

Will be thankful for any help with this issue.

Thanks Pete, I finally got it. I found the download for Internet Explorer and used it.
