i go on and use two different computers. When i go on the 1st computer with internet explorer, i type the address it says that the page could not be found. When i go to the other computer and type the address in it goes to the website. I know that i typed the address correctly so i know that isn't the problem. What sort of problem am i having?

First, check the cables/phone lines/whatever you use to get online. Make sure everything's plugged in a all plugs are firmly seated.

If you have broadband (cable or DSL), swap the cables between the two computers to see if it's a bad cable.

If you use a router, swap the swap the ports the two computers use to connect to the router.

If you can get email or if an instant messenging program (Windows Messenter, MSN Messenger, ICQ, AIM, etc.) to connect, then, on the computer that can get online, download WinsockXPFix or lLSPFix if you're using Win98/ME, transfer it to the computer having the problems (it'll fit on a floppy if the twon computers aren't networked) and run it.

The next thing to suspect is the firewall. If you're using a firewall, disable it temporarily and see if IE can connect. If so, you've identified the culprit. You can then try reinstalling the firewall over top of itself.
