Things are really coming along and I am continuing to complete some areas and add in some extra content that I know you're going to find very useful. In addition I'm going to be revising the layout a little bit so that everything is even more simple - unless you need the complex information ;-)

It is true that the TCP Receive Window setting is the most important tweak if you have changed from dialup to broadband, since the default dialup setting is much too low for most broadband set ups.

 

Askmarvin's site is designed for Shaw Canadian customers, and it has it's flaws.
One example is the proxy servers that Shaw uses, and he recommends. They are a waste of time, and won't speed anything up, because they're never used (in most cases). All you end up with is a bunch of timeouts or 404's.
Setting RWIN to a value greater than 32767 works, in most cases, but that's something that's been beaten to death on plenty of other websites, and applies only if you have a high latency connection, in which case, you should call Shaw support and have it rectified at their end. You're paying for an Internet SERVICE Provider, make them do the "service ".
