LMFAOOOO....what he is saying is windows 2k doesn't use DOS. it operates on the kerrnell.dll. it does fake DOS by goin to:

    programs....

    accessories...

    comand prompt....

if u want to boot into DOS i suggest u use an older windows boot disk such as windows 98 or ME boot disk. that will work i have done it to fdisk a new drive i installed after i installed win 2k.

Actually, if you are not planning on doing anything too complex, you could try hitting <F8> when in says in white block letters with the black background: "Starting Windows "
This is before the colorful boot screen. It might say Press F8 for advanced boot options or something like that. Then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only. I'm not sure what you might use it for, but it is close enough to DOS. There is not a lot of flexibility here, as it is running with minimum drivers, hence Safe Mode. I'm not sure if there is a Command Prompt only option either, but im sure there is a safe mode with command prompt option.
