Hi everyone. I posted a thread about this issue back in July 2007. I can no longer find this thread so I am making a new one. My original problem that I experienced was that on my computer I couldn't sign into Windows Messenger on my personal account but I could sign in on another account with the same Windows Live ID. The error I got was Windows can't sign you into Windows Live Messenger because the service is temporarly unavailable. Please try to sign in later. Error Code 80070005. The solutions you guys told me was to create a new user profile because mine may have been corrupted. The thing is my profile isn't corrupt at all. I can install any piece of software and windows updates without a problem. I am also an administrator. The only issue I experienced was I couldn't sign in on Windows Messenger on my local profile. I even tried removing Windows Messenger 8.1 and installed 8.5 but it didn't make a difference. The only thing I noticed is before I installed 8.1 I had 7.0 installed. When I had 7.0 I could sign in without a problem.

I am one of the student system administrators at the school that I go to. I also experience this specific problem on a lot of the school machines. I usually try to sign into messenger just to see if I can and on some machines I can sign in fine but others I get the same error code 80070005. I have googled this error and a lot of people have recieved this same error message. At school I cant exactly delete my account so thats out of the question. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Hi steve. The error code was actually 80070005 and not 8070005. In my older thread Arie told me that it was an access in denied error. I have already googled the error code and some people have had the same issue but no solutions. :( I may have found a solution located here. http://msn-errors.blogspot.com/2007/04/fix-80070002-error.html I will try the solution on the website when I get home. In the meantime if you need more information about my problem let me know. :)
