When I try to shutdown, I am prompted to install updates. No matter how many times I try to, this prompt keeps apperaing. I also tried to manually install the updates from windows updates. Thanks

    OS: Vista

Hi stan1622. Have you verified that the updates were actually installed? If they were installed then you can always hide the updates that have been repeatedly offered to be installed. To hide the updates click Start< All Programs< Windows Update. Now click on Select Updates to be installed. Locate the update that is being repeatedly offered. Right click the update and click Hide. The update will be hidden and hopefully won't be offered to you again.

By the way I assume you already followed the link in Arie's post?
