Should this message about vmm32.vxd be a concern?

I'm trying to figure out why a CD-ROM burner is not working (probably hardware), but in the course of investigating, I ran Windows 95 in Safe mode and stepped through the loading of Windows.

At one point, there was a configuration line as follows:

    "DEVLIB -u VMM32.VXD "

    The computer returned:

"Bad command or file name "

There is a VMM32.VXD on the computer, but it seems that it was failing on the response to "DEVLIB "

Should I be worried about this?

(The next line also failed, something about replacing VMM.VXD with VMM32.VXD).

    Possible explanation?

    Hi
    From programmers heaven website :
    Quote:
"DevLib 1.2 is an updated object-oriented framework written in pure C++. It is designed to make multimedia productions (games, screen-savers, demos..) easier and more intuitive to write.
Benefits of DevLib 1.2 include a complete abstraction of resources management (fonts, images, 3D meshes, files, zip-archives, sounds..) and rendering operations through 3D hardware. "

My guess is something in the way of a 3d screensaver or a game based on the above info....I personally would not panic ....

What Cd burner software are trying to use....some require Adaptec's drivers...

    Cheers
    Jake

Sorry I was slow getting back on this. Thanks for the information on Devlib.

With regard to the CD-RW, this is a unit that has worked successfully for a couple of years, and has just stopped working. I've confirmed with the manufacturer now that it is probably failed, and have ordered a new CDRW.

    Thanks

    Terry
