Hi everyone. Has anyone experienced any issues with running the latest drivers from ATI? I'm running an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512 MB AGP 8x graphics card with Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit as my OS. I'm running the 7.4 drivers from ATI and I have had no problems. I have been very hesitant with upgrading my graphics drivers because I tried the 7.10 drivers a few months ago and all hell broke loose. So should I try the 8.4 drivers for the sake of better performance and more features or just stick with my 7.4 drivers? Thanks for the suggesstions.

I have AGP X1550 512MB on Vista Home Premium. Driver 8.476. Running fine.... unless there is a big difference between your X1650, and mine X1550

I have a four year old white box built by a local computer shop with a Radeon X1600 Series graphic card. I was using 7.11 drivers without problems until March when I installed 8.3 and started getting daily BSOD. I think I must have installed ALL of the drivers available and finally tried to go back to 7.11 but BSOD's continued. Three weeks later my computer would no longer boot and I took it to the local shop. He replaced the motherboard (he had already replaced the motherboard two years ago). He installed 7.14.10.830 drivers from the original CD and suggested that I do NOT update the Radeon drivers!

Interesting! I guess it won't hurt to try out the 8.4 drivers. I will post back after I try out the drivers. Hopefully there won't be any problems, I am keeping my fingers crossed. :D

I just installed the 8.4 drivers. So far I haven't had any issues. :D All of my games worked without a hitch and I noticed that I got better performance with the new driver. :) I have heard many horror stories about people getting BSOD's and having other problems on their machines when they had the 8.4 driver installed. It looks like I was one of the lucky ones who didn't experience any problems, thanks for your guys's opinions by the way.

    Good going :)
You know, I'm always cautious with believing all those horror stories.
Horror stories, mostly happen to people, who don't really take a good care of their computers.
    Not 100% cases, but close.

I couldn't agree more Broni. ATI's drivers probably aren't as bad as everyone says they are. Personally if people took better care of their computers then they probably wouldn't be having as many problems.
