Resolved Should i update from IE9 to IE 11 on a Win 7 64bit computer

    I would like the pros and cons of updating from IE 9 to IE 11 on my Win 7 64bit computer.
    I am using kaspersky Internet security 2014 as my main protection along with Malwarebytes paid for program with real time monitoring ?

    If i do upgrade what settings should i use or alter from the default settings.

    any comments would be welcome

    1) Yes, do the update. (IE11 Changes).

    2) No changes from the defaults are required.

    Yes, uninstalling IE11 would automatically restore the previous version (i.e., IE10, IE9 or IE8).

    Have upgraded it does seem okay but pages don't seem to load any faster but it may be due to the Antivirus I have installed

    There's are no pros and cons. Next moth IE9 will be 3 years old. I'd suggest you'll be better off with IW11.

    IE9 on Windows 7 SP1 will be supported till 2020.

    Open IE > Tools > About IE will show version installed. Neil.

    Look in Program Files & Program Files (x86) - both should have a folder for Internet Explorer.

    From here .....
    The same applies to IE11 AFAIK.

    To use IE11 64 bit you will need to turn on 'Enhanced Protection Mode'

    I have 2 versions of Internet Explorer on my pc
    C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe. 786KB
    C:/Program Files (x86)/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe. 788KB

    Both versions have Enhanced Protection Mode enabled but neither shows 32bit or 64bit in the Help/About Internet Explorer tab

    As I read the URL I posted you are running the 64 bit version of IE11 and if you look at the About Internet Explorer shown there you will see ....

    I have looked in the Help/About Internet Explorer tab but there is no mention about 32bit or 64 bit in fact they show the same version of IE on both tabs

    Go to Control Panel System and it will tell you what you have. As I said before, MS update will do the right one.

    Where in the control panel does it tell me what Internet Explorer I have.
    I have tried windows update and it states that their is no updates available .

    If their is no way to check what version of IE11 is running what is the point of having both versions and what would be the advantage of using the 64bit Version over the 32bit version.
