Right now, I'm paying $300/month for 60 GB on VZW. I use my phone as my hotspot to connect my computer.

CenturyLink is available in my area for about $34/month. Does anyone here use them? Is their service fast and reliable? Are they a cable ISP?

    Thanks. [emoji4]

No, they are not a Cable ISP. They are a Phone Co. ISP. I have had them for about 7 or 8 years and have had very little problems with them. As with DSL, it depends on how far from the office or slick that you live as to what speed you can get. Their Tech's have a meter that they can come to your house with and give you a pretty good estimate on what kind of speeds you can expect.

    Wow.

I had no idea that a person could pay that much for internet service.

RST Fiber is setting up shop around here, but I don't know when it (residential service) will be available in my area. A business friend of mine has it, and he likes it much better than Time Warner Cable. He can download a full DVD movie in seconds with RST's black fiber transmission lines.

Our $75.00 per month for 80GB's Broadband (UFB-Fibre Optic Cable) and Telephone service with FREE Wireless Router/Modem on 24 month contract is looking real good. :D
Are you sure you're not paying for a business connection? Like James said - Wow!!! Neil.

I have phone service, caller ID, Call Waiting, Three way calling, Call forwarding, all on a private line plus 8 download for 65 bucks a month including all the tax **** that they tack on. They offer more speed, but I am right on the edge for my 8.

How did you manage that price for 8 Mbps plus phone?

The best I have is 1.5 Mbps and no three-way calling for 58.00 per month.

I'm on DSL. The company is pushing U-verse, but I have balked so far after hearing of many complaints.

That is their normal price. If I drop the phone service, it is 34 bucks a month plus the tax and other garbage that they tack on.

I was paying more but when I called them about 3 years ago about something else, they offered me that package for what I was paying for just a phone line and 3.0 download. Told her that I would talk to the wife and get back with her. She didn't want to hear that. She wanted the sale. I told her that somebody was at the front door and could she hold for a minute. I put the land line down and called the wife on the cell and we talked about it. Decided to get it and even tried to push for a little more.

Call them. Most companies do offer some type of package but don't have the personal to call you and make you an offer. Sometimes telling them that you are fixing to go someplace else will also wake them up and offer you something for 2 or more years. Mine was for 5 years, but I can get out of it any time that I want.

We don't seem to have any small packages in NZ these days. My ISP starts at 50GB's for ADSL for $70.00 p/month.
