If I open a Windows Explorer window - eg. by a shortcut with the command line:

    C:\Windows\Explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\,

I can then rightclick on the Desktop icon in the folder pane, then leftclick on "open" to get an Explorer window with a listview (or whatever it was set to last) of the desktop. Then when I.ve found what I want there are 2 windows to close.

Is there an easier way, specifically by creating a shortcut with a command line something like:

    C:\Windows\Explorer.exe /n,/e,XXX,

where the "XXX" identifies the Desktop?

    Thanks, ral :)

    Yes!

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n,/e,/root,0

The '0' was not dead obvious, but my guess worked.

    Thank you, Robert
