When I click on the shortcut icon on the desktop and click "open" nothing happens. Am i missing part of a program.
Sounds simple but i do not have an answer. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You

BIG RED - Welcome to the Board :)
Which shortcut icon are you referring to or are you referring to all desktop (shortcut) icons?

Right click on 'the shortcut icon' > Properties - do you see a path there, e.g. "G:\Process Explorer\procexpnt\procexp.exe "?

If none are working there is a possible fix here under 'Short Cut - Links Not Working'

Just adding to PeteC's suggestion. If the problem is confined to just one shortcut, perhaps it has become corrupt. Find the application's .exe file, right click|SendTo|Desktop (create Shortcut). If you are asked if you want to replace the existing shortcut, click Yes.

Thanks to Pete c and Welshjim - I had failed to mention that the problem was confined to one shortcut only. The shortcut is now working by process of the applications .exe and replacing the existing shortcut.
    Thank you both
