I have Netscape 4.9 Composer in my Quick Launch. This was easy to do for Composer is listed in Programs. I just created a shortcut to the desktop and dragged into Quick Launch.

I would also like to have Netscape 6.2 Composer in my Quick Launch. 6.2 is listed in my Programs but Composer is not listed. Of course it shows on the 6.2 browser but no way to create a shortcut.

I also looked in the 6.2 folder but found nothing that looked like Composer.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I could create a shortcut for 6.2 Composer?

    Thanks
    :)

    Hi arkie,

To open Netscape 6.2 with Composer you can add -edit to your Netscape 6.2 Icon Target line:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape 6\netscp6.exe" -edit

To do so, right click the icon, select "Properties ", then add -edit.

Then place a shortcut in your Quick Tray.

I run Netscape 7.0 PR1, and Composer is listed in Programs. When you right click on the Icon and select Properties, it is the same as the above Target line, i.e., -edit.

    Ramona :D

P.S. You might want to consider upgrading to Netscape 7.0 PR1, as it is definitely a huge improvement over Netscape 6.2.

    Hi Ramona:

Do you mean for me to do
    THIS?

Thanks, I think I will let you pro's pick over 7.0 PR1 before I try it.:)

    STOP! DO NOT ENTER!

    arkie,

Eeeeek! No, no, no, no, and no. That is your program execute file.

The Target Line that I refer to is the one in your Netscape Desktop Icon.

Right click your Desktop Icon. Sorry if I was unclear about what to do.

It might be a good idea for you to take a look Show 'N Tell

As you will see I have Netscape 7, but it will be the same screen for 6.2.

Let me know if you still have questions. I can always upload screenshots for you.

    Hi arkie,

Do you have a space between:

    .exe "and -edit?

    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape 6\netscp6.exe "space-edit

It's really hard to tell in the screenshot. Your window is a little different, as you are running XP.

Did you change anything in the Target Line other than add "-edit "? If not, then see if adding a space before "-edit" gets rid of the error.

    Hi Ramoma

The space was my problem, I should have caught that... :(

How I got started off wrong in the first place was I don't have a Netscape icon on my Desktop.
I like to keep it clear and just use quick launch. That was the reason I went into the Netscape folder looking for an icon. I forgot to right click Netscape in quick launch.

Now when I click Netscape 6.2, Composer opens first.. I like that.
I don't use 6.2 Navigator that much but do like the Composer.

Thanks again for helping old arkie. :D

    Hi "Old arkie ", ;)

Well heck, at least you got your shortcut business straightened out, and nice that you can open with Composer.

Really  wallpaper, and no wonder you don't want to clutter it up with Icons!
