    It would be nice if computer stores carried wee bits of software. I need 64-bit YESNO.COM for Windows 7, for BATCHNAME.BAT that I run in DOS. The batches run in ME, so I know they're written correctly. Can anyone recommend a SAFE online store where a person can download a simple little bit of software like that? And I hope they take credit cards; I don't want to open an account I might not use again for months or years.

    It is good practise to ensure a Vender's policy grants a money refund in cases the software does not work properly on your computer or download is corrupt. Expensive software best obtained on a CD/DVD, again same policy applies. Best being safe than sorry.

    This isn't about BASIC.EXE. I know about the incompatibility, which is why I need YESNO.COM for Windows 7. So where can I safely download a teeny bit of software by itself instead of as part of a package?

    It looks like no one has the answer. I'm still searching the Internet, but I'll close this thread. If someone runs across it someday and can help, my e-mail is removed by Moderator to protect you against spammers
    Well, I would close it if I knew how. What's the procedure?

    Marking the thread as 'resolved' is not appropriate here as there is no resolution.

    After a set period of time it will be closed automatically.

    Pretty sure you won't be able to find it anywhere.

    BATCHNAME.BAT was an example. I have a few batches that require YESNO.COM. But maybe you want me to show a batch? Here's a sample of C-TO-E.BAT:
    YESNO This takes 17 minutes. Do you want to run it now?
    IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO END
    COPY C:\MUSIC\*.* E:\MUSIC\*.*
    COPY C:\CARS\*.* E:\CARS\*.*
    COPY C:\........... [As many commands as I want.]
    :END

    [The YESNO line prints, then waits for the operator to type Y or N.]
    [Errorlevel1 = Yes, so fall thru and run till :END. Else, go to :END]
    [These commands in DOS back up specified C-drive directories to flash drive instead of constant click-and-drag.]
    [YESNO.COM (dated 11/15/88) is in the directory this batch is in. It works in ME.]

    @echo off
    set /p answer=This takes 17 minutes; run it now? ([Y]es/[N]o)?
    if /i {%answer%}=={y} (goto :yes)
    exit
    :Yes
    copy c:\music\*.* e:\music
    copy c:\cars\*.* e:\cars
    :End

    Eureka! This does what I want. The only teensy difference is I have to tap ENTER after answering the question; I can live with it. Thank you, SpywareDr. Now I can mark this RESOLVED.
