Ok, my WIN XP desktop and WIN XP laptop are successfully, wirelessly networked. From either computer, I can access the Internet and print from my printer.

I cannot figure out how to share files. I want to share my entire "My Documents" folder, and I have done something right, because I can see the little hand on the icon, and "Network Sharing" is checked in Properties on both computers. So I should be able to access a document on my desktop from my laptop, right? Or am I missing a step? Because I cannot do that --- or I don't know how.

    Can someone please help?

P.S. to "Sharing FIles on a Home Network "

P.S. Or do I need to access and share files through "My Network Places?" That works! Is that the way?

P.P.S. How about sharing Outlook Express?

Ok, next step: How do I send and receive email and share the address book of Outlook Express?

And how do I get my "Favorites" over to the laptop?

Thank goodness there are people out there who know this stuff! I've tried to find the answers through Google, and it seems quicker to just put the questions out there to this peer support.

A google search may not help but a search here in the XP section for file sharing should fix you right up. Question asked and answered at length quite a few times. I'm gonna save my fingers from more typing by suggesting the search.

Once you get the file thing working, you can take care of the 'favorites' by copying all your favorites from the one machine and pasting them as a single large chunk to the favorites folder of your user account (in documents & settings) on the other PC.

Address book - you'll need to use 'shared contacts'. OE help can tell you what/how on that.

For most XP questions, it will help if you specify the home or the pro version. They do some things the same way but many (and networking or security especially) are done very differently.
