Recently I shared a drive from one computer on a net to all the other computers (5 of them) , the problem was security , in the security I made "evryone" as full accsess , I couldn't conect to the shared drive from other computers on the net , I was forced to open for each computer on the net a user ID & password & put this user on the shared drive for each computer on the net , my problem is to find a way to share a drive on a local network without having to open new users on the shared drive compuet.

    Thank's

    Blumash,

Map the drives and they will be available each time someone logs onto their PC. It will also provide a level of sercurity since people put their password in once and then do not have to put it in again.

Mapping a drive is under Tools.

afaik, there is no way around that. Every time you add a comp to the lan you wil have to add a user account for that new comp on the comp that hosts the shared drive. This is a beneficial security feature that as well prevents access to the shared drive from within the lan and from outside the lan.

To set it up so users do not need to type a password each time, make the user accounts using the same logon name and password that they use on their own comps.
