As my telephone line goes down periodically, I want to set up my home network so that other computers can access the internet via a 3G connection on the host computer.

Having followed the help files, I have set up the host computer as instructed (I think) but when I go to set up on the remote computer, while the "Never Dial a connection" is checked, it is also disabled. I can follow the instructions for the proxy server but once all is done, I cannot access the internet on the remoye computer.

I must be missing something; help please

How do you access internet normally ? Is it through a host computer ? Would the same computer be used for 3G connection ?

Through a router connected to the main computer which also transmits a wireless network.

The other PCs will connect directly to the router via the wireless connection. Therefore, changes on your computer won't have any affect.

There are routers that will let you install an alternative connection device. However, these are not the cheapest. If you are running a small business, it might be worth hunting one out.

    For example,
To use that solution, you'd have to buy the Cisco router AND a matching 3G modem.

Otherwise, I think this is an idea that will be difficult for you to implement. It might be easier just to get 3G cards for the other computers.
