Just had a 6.5 quake move our area about 11.36pm NZ time. Thank God the wife was already asleep in bed as I think she would have re-acted quite noisily if she had been awake.
They keep telling us to be prepared for the BIG one - but who knows when that will be the one?
Chrischurch in the South Island is still getting aftershocks from September 2010.

We had one one here in Melbourne AUS some weeks back 5.6 on the Richter Scale.
Was quite funny as I was sitting on my PC when my chair started to move around and I thought it was the dog pushing, trying to get some attention, I looked around but could not see the bloody dog anywhere, and then the chair moved again and I ended up looking under the spare bed, before the other half came running in screaming EARTHQUAKE .:D:D

Hi Bill, you will obviously be well prepared for the next big movement in Victoria. Look for dog, check under bed, then the wife can lead you out of the house safely. Cheers Neil.:D

We're still getting the tremors. Looks a little like Japan of the South Pacific.
This is worth a look at:http://www.geonet.org.nz/earthquake/quakes/recent_quakes.html

I feel sorry for the people of Christchurch as they are still having movement almost on a daily basis.
MrBill, my condolences for your friends family over their loss.

BobbyScot, it must have been cold that day and Bill needed a warm spot. Neil.
