Hello, I've been having a variety of weird things in my emails, and each time I take one step, it asks for more side steps and it seems I never reach the original goal.

So may I ask if anyone knows anything about the PCBugDoctor? They're offering a trial saying they'll deeply repair EVERY error and all "hidden" errors, etc. And here they explain: http://019.silvermailings.com/t/l?ag-3h7y-1-29lp-ys4ev .

If anyone knows please do tell me if it's legit? Or will they plant more bugs??? LOL! Meantime, I've made a list of all 7 weird things and hope someone can recognize one or more to let me know? Thanks so very much and here it goes:

WHEN MY RECIPIENTS RECEIVE, OR I RECEIVE FROM THEM, ONE OR MORE OF THESE, HAPPENS:

(1) Many messages come all garbled! Many msgs come in multiples of 6. Same for my recipients!

(2) Msgs others send to me...land in the DELETE folder instead of the Inbox!

(3) Msgs I send to others...land BOTH in the SENT ITEMS folder (which is correct) but at the same time in the DELETE folder (which is NO good!)

(4) Many msgs I send to others...do not land anywhere. They are supposed to land at my SENT ITEMS folder and also at the recipients' INBOX! But neither happens. They disappear!

(5) Even when I forward from one Identity (Outlook Express) to another, just the same happens one or more of the things mentioned here..

(6) Bounces come blank (without my message) AND with an attachment which is NOT mine and cannot be opened. It says:
<<This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.>>
BUT, I dont know where or how to create such "association ", and since they are blank and didn't go to my
SENT ITEMS folder....I just lose all these messages!).

(7) The following message to <____> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 554-'5.7.1 MIME type message/partial not accepted here'

(7a) The following message to <_____> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550- "Your message contains a fragmented attachment named" which is not allowed for security reasons "

(7b) The following message to <_____> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.5.0 Mail rejected for container policy reasons.'

A virus may cause this, though I keep my anti virus auto scanning daily...so I wanted to give it a strong scan at the Norton, Trend and maybe Panda sites, but, they said I MUST first backup. But when I started, with my WinXP Backup and my Iomega zip disks, I had problems inserting the 2nd disk as it takes around 2 to 4 disks. Then when I tried to re-format and start from scratch I got weird messages...which didn't let me continue.

Please forgive the lengthy message, I'm doing this as a last resort. Thanks so very much for any ideas. Adela :)

I would steer clear of PCBugDoctor and any other software that claims to fix all your PC errors - they often work on the basis of a free trial which finds a whole host of errors - real or imaginary - which can only be 'fixed' by purchasing the software, which may or may not work. You are better off here :)

It sounds to me that you have corruption in your OE folders ......

First - how large are they? OE has a nominal max. size of 2 Gb, but problems may occur long before this limit is reached.

Search your hard drive for *.dbx - include hidden files and folders and post the range of file sizes here.

In the meantime clear out your Temporary Internet files and reregister OE and it's library files as outlined in An Outlook Express Basic Repair Kit Ignore the sections on Compacting and Identities.
